From 12-17 July 2026, SARPF brought together parliamentarians from across South Asia for a study tour to Singapore and Indonesia, focused on practical approaches to climate action, environmental sustainability, energy transition and regional cooperation. In Singapore, the delegation engaged with government institutions, climate and energy experts, financial institutions and research organizations, and visited sites showcasing the country’s approaches to sustainable urban development, water management and climate resilience. In Indonesia, the program included high-level engagements with the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the National Energy Council and the ASEAN Centre for Energy, with discussions on regional cooperation, energy security, clean energy and cross-border energy connectivity. The tour provided parliamentarians with an opportunity to learn directly from institutional experiences and explore how regional approaches and practical solutions can inform stronger parliamentary action and cooperation in South Asia.
